The SSC CGL Tier 1 examination for the same was conducted from December 01 to 13, 2023. SSC CGL Cutoff marks for each phase are released separately for Tier-I and II along with the result announcement. The cut-off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score to get qualified for the next stage of SSC CGL. The SSC CGL Cut Off marks are decided on the basis of the previous year's cut-off trends, exam difficulty, vacancies released for various posts like Assistant Audit Officer, Junior Statistical Officer, etc. The SSC has released the result PDF which has the category-wise cutoff marks for different posts.

SSC CGL Merit List
The SSC CGL merit list is prepared on the basis of candidates’ overall performance in all the stages of the SSC CGL exam i.e, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. For instance, if a candidate has given a higher preference for a post and is selected for that post but he/ she fails to meet the medical/ physical/ educational standards for that post, in that case, his/her candidature will be rejected and the candidate will not be considered for any other post.
SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwD candidates who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies. Such candidates will be appointed against the general/ unreserved vacancies in the post as per their position in the overall merit or vacancies earmarked for their category, whichever is advantageous to them. The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately amongst the eligible SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwD candidates.

SSC CGL Normalization of Score
The number of candidates applying/appearing for SSC CGL is more hence the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. In order to avoid discrepancies in online exams, the authorities use the normalization process to calculate the marks of the candidates. These normalized marks are used to decide the cutoff of the candidates.
Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission vide Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cutoff marks.
