What is OTA?

OTA is known as Officers Training Academy. OTA in CDS is dissimilar to regular CDS exams. Both men and women can apply for OTA in CDS Recruitment. OTA is also called a Short Service Commission.

In OTA, candidates are allowed to stay in service for 10 to 14 years. Candidates have to apply for a permanent commission if they want to work for more than 14 years of commission.

Before commissioning, candidates have to appear for the CDS exam to receive training at Indian Military Academy, Indian Navy Academy, Officers Training Academy, and Indian Airforce Academy. The CDS online application form for OTA will start on December 21, 2021. To apply for the exam, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility requirements.

• To learn new English words, candidates should watch English news bulletins and read English newspapers every day.

CDS Salary

CDS salary is mentioned in the official notification. Candidates are recruited for training after passing the selection process. In the training period, candidates are given a stipend of Rs. 56,000 monthly.

• After two years of service, they offered the position of Captain.
• After six years of service, they offered the position of Major.
• After thirteen years of service, they offered the position of Lieutenant Colonel.
