Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) revised the syllabus of the Tamil Language Paper of TNPSC Group 4 Exam last year. TNPSC has made the Tamil Language paper compulsory in the Combined Civil Service Group 4 preliminary exams. The paper will consist of 100 objective-based questions in the Tamil language paper. The standard of the paper will be based on the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) standard.

In the TNPSC Group 4 exam, the aspirants will be asked from General Tamil, General English, General Studies, and Aptitude.The aspirants can answer the questions either in English or in Tamil and hence, the TNPSC Group 4 exam question paper will be of two types. The minimum qualifying mark is 90 for all communities.

Each question of General Studies and Aptitude will carry 1 mark, whereas the aspirants have to answer 100 questions from the General Tamil/ General English section and the weightage of each question of this section is 2 marks.
The TNPSC Group 4 syllabus for Steno-Typist written exam will be similar to that comes under TNPSC Group 4. Only for applying for the post, the aspirants should have a Government-issued Certificate in Typing.
